This project started as a sale flyer for a good friend who manages a community garden in her neighborhood. Since the garden had no logo, I thought it was a good opportunity to create one.
I created a logo set that is playful and vibrant, with four logo forms. They can be used together in tandem, an object logo paired with a letterform logo for example, or individually. The imagery can also be used for various projects such as hard goods like give away stickers or fundraising pins.
The imagery was taken from the garden itself. There is a managed honey bee hive in the garden and the gardeners share the excess at the end of the season. There were sunflowers growing last year and my friend took a beautiful picture of one of them and used it some of the social media communications. Tomatoes are loved and grown by many gardeners so it seemed natural to include one as a representative of the produce grown in the gardens. And, finally, I had drawn a different ladybug which my friend used for last years’ plant sale flyer; I created a new drawing in the style of the rest of the set.
